The 1st Strathaven Scout Group can proudly claim to have been one of the first to be established in Lanarkshire and it has been providing high quality Scouting in Strathaven for over 100 years.

Camping has always been a key part of the Scouts’ programme and as well as the annual Summer Camps which have been held throughout most parts of Scotland and also England there have been many camps and expeditions to various countries of Europe and in America.

Close International links have been created with Scouts in Austria, America and Poland.

Climbing has been a regular and popular activity with Scouts, Venture Scouts and Explorer Scouts over the past fifty years.

The Group has a fine record of Kings and Queens Scouts among its members since the early days and in recent years a good number of Explorer belts have been gained.
