Dunbar Coast

Event Date:

29th November 2021

Event Time:

1:00 pm

A stroll along Dunbar’s beaches and rocky headlands, through a range of rocks including Old Red Sandstone and piles of volcanic debris.

THE ROCKS: the oldest rocks here are the Old Red Sandstone from the Devonian Period, cut through by a range of volcanic rocks that formed millions of years later.

THE WALK: A gentle circuit along the coast, including sandy and pebbly beaches and good paths. I have classified this as an Easy Walk. It may be wet, windy or cold. Come equipped with strong footwear and waterproof clothing.

MEETING POINT & ROUTE: Outside the Town House Museum, High St, Dunbar EH42 1ER (beside the John Muir statue). Grid reference: NT679789 | Nearest Postcode: EH42 1ER | What3Words: windows.remembers.test | Route Map.

This walk is accessible by public transport, with good bus and train services to Dunbar.
